One done, three to go

The porch project was wrapped up last Wed, with the final touches just being painting the rail, and staining the floor. I'd say it came out well, which is also what everyone from the neighborhood that I have talked to has said. The roof was supposed to have been started today, but for some unknown reason, they didn't show up, altho the shingles and dumpster did. My electictrian did however show up a day early, and since extra key #2 was in my pocket at work, and extra key #1 is with the roofers somewhere, he couldn't get in to start working. We'll try that one again tomorrow. I didn't think it would happen, but it now appears I will meet the 60 day window I was given to get these three big projects done for the insurance company. If only it wasn't so expensive. Its only money, right?

Almost done

I now see why contractors are nicer then doing something yourself. Its been 5 days (4 work days, 1 rain day) and I now have a new porch. This of course costs more, but its still nice to have it done so fast. See for yourself... Monday...

Off and running

Construction started today on the North house, with the front porch removed in a few hours so the new porch can be built. If all goes as planned, it should be done this week. The roof should follow next week assuming we don't enter the rainy season.

The back after a quick cleaning. Look, its white, not green!

One 20 yd dumpster full, 1 more to go
