Follow-up

Judging by the counter numbers this week, there has been a lot of interest in how Addison is doing. He is doing better then we could have hoped. If it hadn't been for the black eye, most people would have had no idea he just had surgery based solely on his behavior. He's been playing and acting as tho nothing happened. His eye looks better and better everytime he wakes up. The follow ups with both doctors happen on his birthday (Friday). Here are a few pictures we attempted to take tonight (Wed) He was more interested in walking and looking at the camera then smiling, but we take what we can get.

Recovery

All went well this morning with Addison's surgery. We arrived at 5:45am, they took him in around around 7:20 and by 8:30 they eye doctor was done and talking to us about his part. They started the second half just after 9:00, and that took about 45 mins to complete. We had talked to that doctor and were on our way to the recovery room shortly after 10:00, with discharge around 12:30. There were no problems and we expect him to be back bouncing and walking around before long. Currently he has a patch over his eye which comes off in about an hour from now. We follow-up in about a week with both doctors.

Hospital time

Well the day has arrived. Addison goes in for surgery tomorrow (thursday the 9th) at 7:15am. We check-in at 5:45am, so it is going to be a long day. It is supposed to be an outpatient deal, so we'll have him back with us after it, but we will be staying in Iowa City near the hospital for the first day just in case there needs to be any follow-up. Thats all I've got for now. We'll report back once we get back home friday, otherwise, if you need/want to contact us, cell phones will be on.
